On August 17th/18th, 24 union representatives from Siemens locations in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia and Austria met at Kutná Hora (Czech Republic) to discuss the latest developments at Siemens and to exchange their experiences.
The Siemens Europe Committee has been informed that Terry Kennedy, member of the Siemens Europe Committee from Ireland, has died on August 18th. Terry has been the representative from Ireland in the Siemens Europe Committee for seven years. He has always been a honorable and nice colleague who helped the Siemens Europe Committee to get a perspective from Ireland.
Members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers gathered in New Orleans, Louisiana, in May for the union’s Broadcasting, Manufacturing and Telecommunications Conference. For the second year, Dirk Linder, representing the Siemens Global Union Network, addressed the conference.
The active opposition of Italian Healthcare employees against worse conditions in the new structure has led to a success: After 10 weeks of negotiation, a total of 24 hours of strike and two public demonstrations at the entrance of the Siemens Headquarters in Milan, finally a bargaining agreement has been reached.

On April 14th/15th, a meeting of employees‘ representatives from Germany and South-Korea took place at Seoul. The meeting followed the International Framework Agreement of Siemens and included as well an exchange between the representatives from Germany and South-Korea as a discussion with the Korean management.
